The technology

Earth Mount Solar PV

Erthos has reinvented utility-scale solar by eliminating steel mounting structures, installing modules directly on the Earth, and cleaning the array nightly with the ErthBot™ autonomous cleaning robot. The result is a simpler, lower-cost plant — and, on a coastal site like Bravo, a fundamentally more resilient one.

Field-proven & resilient

Built for the Gulf Coast — and verified for it

The Texas Gulf Coast is exactly where Earth Mount Solar's advantages matter most. Laying modules on the ground eliminates the wind, hail, and flood failure modes that make single-axis trackers hard to insure and finance in a hurricane-and-hail region — so an Erthos plant is a fundamentally more resilient asset to own here. And because a Bravo block is a design Erthos has already built and operated, bringing it to this scale is the replication of a proven system — borne out by an independent engineer and a third-party technology assessment.

Wind
194 mph
CPP wind-tunnel rating · Cat 5

With no torque tube, Earth Mount has no torsional-galloping failure mode — the instability that has damaged trackers at gusts under 60 mph and that leaves them unrated for Category 5. CPP measured no movement to the tunnel's 215 mph maximum. The site's structural code requirement is 137 mph (ASCE 7-16); the system clears it with wide margin.

Hail
4.0 mm
Front glass · survives ~5″ hail

Bravo doubles the standard 2.0 mm module glass to 4.0 mm — tested to withstand ice balls up to 85 mm, roughly equivalent to 5″ (127 mm) natural hail. Protection is static: there is no stow mode, weather feed, or mechanical actuation to fail before a storm, which materially eases convective-storm insurability.

Flood
Outside SFHA
No FEMA flood-hazard exposure

The independent engineer confirms no project structures sit within a FEMA special flood hazard area; no floodplain permit is required. Modules lie flat with engineered weep holes, so stormwater drains straight to the soil — no elevated racking to dam debris or concentrate scour. Erthos wires the array with TE SOLARLOK 2.0 gel-filled connectors rated to IP68 (1 m, 1,000+ hrs) — versus one hour for standard MC4 connectors.

Independently verified

Independent production model
Partner Engineering & Science

An independent P50 of 122.9 GWh and P90 of 118.1 GWh — corroborating the project's own ~124 GWh estimate.

Third-party technology assessment
DNV

Earth Mount Solar's energy model validated against real operating data; structural and wind reports found compliant with the IBC and ASCE 7.

Construction-debt diligence
Completed for a national lender

The independent IE report supported an approval for non-recourse long-term debt — permits complete, with no fatal flaws identified.

ErthBot autonomous cleaning robot
ErthBot™ autonomous cleaning

Nightly cleaning in dry or wet conditions — 18 robots across the site — roughly one per 3 MWac — keep annual soiling under 1%, with daily DC health checks that cut time-to-repair on faults. Robots are deployed on all operating Erthos systems.

Plant architecture

An Erthos plant is built from repeating blocks — arrays group into islands, islands into a block, and each block feeds one 4.4 MVA power conditioning system (PCS). Bravo is 12 such blocks of 550 W Imperial Star glass/glass modules on Sungrow 4.4 MVA PCS units, per Site Plan SP100.
